CSA B51 – Boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping code
The CSA B51:2024 is the twentieth edition of Canada’s comprehensive code for boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping, and fittings. This edition supersedes all previous versions, ensuring that the most up-to-date requirements and best practices are applied to these critical pressure systems. Developed in collaboration with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (USA) and ASME, this standard ensures international harmonization, offering both safety and uniformity for industries involved in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of pressure equipment.
The 2024 edition includes significant revisions that have reorganized the requirements into a lifecycle format, adding four new key clauses:
